Ivey Leadership Series

A series of three two-day stand-alone executive development sessions for supervisory officers, principals and vice-principals designed to extend the impact of leadership.

Participants may register for single or multiple sessions. Each two-day session will be delivered through a rich mix of case studies, exercises and group work by leading members of the Ivey Faculty.

Together, participants will explore topics that will develop their leadership abilities to build coherence in their organizations and to strengthen their capacity to deliver on educational priorities.

Fee (includes breakfast and dinner):
  • Ontario: $299 for the first session, $199 for each additional session(s)
  • Outside of Ontario: $399 for the first session, $299 for each additional session(s)

Session 1: Tapping Into the Potential of High Performance Teams

Participants will discover how best to elicit greatness from a High Performance Team (HPT). Experiential exercises and demonstrations will enable participants to also distinguish an HPT from a mere work group. Included as a component of this session will be the implementation of a DiSC Profile, which will enable participants to better understand their workstyle and how to build more effective relationships.

Session 2: Building Effective Leadership Relationships in the Workplace

Participants will explore the nature of conflict in organizations and learn a range of approaches for effective conflict resolution. Through a series of case studies and simulations, identifying opportunities for value creation in relationships will be emphasized, leading participants to use strategies that will enhance their leadership in the school system or in their school.

Session 3: Leadership as the Exercise of Influence

Much of what leaders do involves influence –with peers, with subordinates, and with stakeholders both internal and external to the organization. This two-day module is designed to delve into and explore, through practice, the process of influence. Over the two days, school and system leaders will enhance their capabilities in influencing those around them doing the work of their organizations.
